Biography
**Let the beauty we love be what we do...** -Rumi
The first time I touched a piano, I was four years old. My parents placed our modest upright in the center sunroom, the one room in the house through which you had to pass to get to all the others. Looking back, the placement was clever (and I have since been told, intentional) because not a day went by that I didn't stop and play that piano. Though it would be a few years before I developed a practice routine, I knew right away that I sure loved to play.
In sixth grade, I joined the school choir. Before long, I was immersed in the local and regional theaters, state wide competions, and private voice and piano lessons. The summer after my junior year of high school, I attended a 5 week performance camp at Berklee College of Music. I moved to Denton a year later to study vocal jazz at the University of North Texas.
There is a lot I could say here about the places I have performed, the techniques I have studied, and the amazing musicians I have worked with. Let's just say, I have been very lucky, learned a lot, and been exposed to great music over the years. What interests me now is what's to come. So please, check out the site for new music and updates. For all booking information, or if you are interested in voice or piano lessons, please contact me through this site. I teach a small studio in Dallas, and love working with students of all ages!!
